The Mid-Autumn Festival (Moon Festival) happens on the 15th day of autumn in the lunar calendar every year.
This is the second important traditional festival in China, with the first being the Lunar New Year. Several Asian countries celebrate the Moon Festival, such as China, Korea, Vietnam and Japan. Each year at Saint Joseph Academy, students taking Chinese celebrate the Moon Festival by making mooncakes in the Dining Hall. Mooncakes symbolize unity and completeness, values important to the Chinese culture.
