Recent Graduate Receives National Recognition for Writing
During the 2023-2024 school year, Quill Thompson ’24 received a 2024 Scholastic Arts & Writing Regional Gold Key Award and the Writing American Voices & Visions Award for a writing piece entitled, “Emilie.” As a Gold Key Award winner, Quill’s piece went for national recognition in the competition and earned it.
Quill received the National Gold Key Award for the piece and also received a $2500 scholarship from the New York Life Foundation. Quill was one of 10 students across the country to receive this scholarship.
Quill was the only student in the country to receive all three awards: National Gold Key Award, Writing American Voices & Visions Award and the New York Life Foundation Scholarship.
