Accomplishments: Willa auditioned for and was selected to play the clarinet the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra (playing bass clarinet too), the Northeast Ohio Regional Orchestra and OMEA All-State Band.
These prestigious regional ensembles admit a small number of clarinet players each year.
“I’m really excited about tackling so much difficult repertoire, and to see my growth on my instrument as a result of that,” Willa shared. “I’m very fond of the types of parts written for it in wind band and orchestral music. The clarinet usually has lots of solos and interesting passages which makes playing exciting. The opportunities and community I’m able to seek through the instrument is also great.”
Congratulations, Willa!
