Adelaide McGee '25
Accomplishments: Adelaide has been named a Semifinalist in the 70th annual National Merit® Scholarship Program.
Each year, the National Merit® Scholarship Program recognizes Seniors whose qualifying Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) score demonstrated exceptional academic promise. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. With the Semifinalist honor, Adelaide has the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,870 National Merit® Scholarships worth nearly $26 million that will be offered next spring.
Adelaide shared this reflection on her accomplishment: ”I am honored to be named a National Merit Semifinalist. I appreciate each and every person who has helped me grow in the knowledge that led me to become a National Merit Semifinalist. Receiving this award has validated my hard work and dedication to my academics.”

Activities and Interests: At Saint Joseph Academy, Adelaide is an Academy Ambassador, member of National Honor Society, a member of the leadership team for the Ancient Cultures Club, a runner on the Cross Country team and a Writing Center Student Consultant.
What is your favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community?: Adelaide shared the following, “I love how welcoming the community of Saint Joseph Academy is. The sense of belonging is what drew me to the school back in eighth grade. I have made incredible friends and have been supported by each teacher I have had. I have loved my time at Saint Joseph Academy and won’t forget all of the memories I have made at this school.”
Future Career Interests: Adelaide intends to pursue a major in Chemistry and follow a Pre-Medicine track.
