Julia Angert '25

Accomplishments: Julia is a leadership member of the Environmental Club. This spring, Julia will be a presenter at a student leadership conference on environmental topics. 
As a member of the leadership team for the club, Julia helps plan wellness events and topics of discussion for the regular meetings. She has also hosted discussions on current environmental topics and events. In the spring, the Environmental Club will host its annual plant sale for the community. 
 
“I joined the Environmental Club because I loved Environmental Science with retired Science Teacher Mrs. Maureen Becker,” Julia shared. “I have always enjoyed being outdoors, but she inspired me to look differently at the world around us, have a greater appreciation, and care more for the outdoors.”
 
Activities and Interests: At Saint Joseph Academy, in addition to the Environmental Club, Julia is a member of the Engineering & Design Honors Program, the Global Scholars Program, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and a leader of the Labre Ministry.
 
What is your favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community?: Julia shared the following: “I think my favorite part about being in this community is to be given the opportunity to be independent. It has allowed me to take advantage of opportunities and given me the platform to excel and go above and beyond in things that interest me and that I am passionate about.” 
 
Future Career Interests: “Although I don’t want to focus on environmental studies as a major, I feel that the lessons and skills I developed from participating in the Environmental Club can be applied in almost all aspects of my life,” Julia shared. “The experience with leadership, planning and presentation skills, and my greater awareness of what is happening in the world around me, will be a benefit to me in many ways going forward.”
