Olivia Schaffner '26
Accomplishments: Olivia was selected for the Look Up to Cleveland (LookUp) leadership program through the Cleveland Leadership Center.
“I wanted to participate in Look Up to Cleveland because I was really interested in learning about where I'm from and how I can make a difference in my community,” Olivia shared.
The Look Up to Cleveland leadership program “provides high school students with leadership development, gives them a heightened awareness and appreciation of Cleveland and shows them how they can contribute to their community.”
Olivia shared the following about the program: “My favorite part of the program is that it brings together students from all different schools, whether private or public, urban or suburban, all girls or all boys. This diversity really allows me to see all perspectives of Cleveland and gives me the ability to hear many different approaches to its problems. It has also allowed me to make many new friends who I would not have met otherwise.”

Activities and Interests: At Saint Joseph Academy, Olivia is an Academy Ambassador, a member of the Engineering & Design Honors Program, leader of the Film Club, a leader and editor for the Yearbook Club, a member of the Robotics team, participant in the Academy’s Motogo program, a Writing Center tutor and a member of the Crew. Olivia also restarted and is team captain of the Sailing team.
What is your favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community?: Olivia shared her favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community is “that I feel I am part of something bigger than myself and that through the sisterhood, I feel connected not only to my current peers but also to the thousands of SJA alumnae.”
Future Career Interests: Olivia plans to major in mechanical or aerospace engineering. She wants to focus on aerodynamics in order to become a motorsports engineer.
