Students Celebrate Black History Month

On Tuesday, Performing Arts students celebrated Black History Month by exploring jazz music and the African American experience.
Hubb's Groove, a local jazz band, took students on a journey from the origin of jazz music, introduced notable musicians and concluded their program with an interactive concert. During the concert, several students joined Hubb's Groove to sing along. Following the program, members of the Academy's jazz band joined Hubb's Groove to play several songs.

Thank you to Assistant Principal for Student Success Mrs. Adriane Hicks, Instrumental Music Teacher and Performing Arts Department Chair Mr. Brian Patton and Performing Arts Teacher Mrs. Hilary Watts for providing this opportunity to students!
